ParticipantHello
Can anyone help me please?
I have an A01 error code. I know what it means thanks to this forum. I think it was caused because there was a blockage which prevented the water from draining out properly. I have cleared the blockage but I still get the error code, even though water can run through now.
I tried tilting the machine towards the right and a lot of water flooded out but I still get the A01 error code. I tried tilting it again and no further water came out, so it seems that wherever it was coming from is now empty?
I have tried resetting etc but to no avail.
We have had a disastrous month with things going wrong and to be honest can’t afford a new dishwasher OR an engineer so if anyone can possibly please let me know of any other tips or tricks I can try I would be immensely grateful!
Thanks very much!
Liz

HI Liz,
First of all please switch the appliance off before doing anything.Specially where it involves the water, it could become quite dangerous.
Where did you cleare the blockage from?was it the filter or the waste trap under the sink where the drain pipe of the dishwasher connects?
Also can you hear the drain pump running when you start a programme?
Try taking the drain pipe(that connects to the sink waste)out and put it in a bucket and then turn the dishwasher on and see what happensRegards

Thanks for this! It was the filter I cleared (where the blockage was) and there is a noise when I start it which is the noise it usually makes when it’s draining so yes…I would say that it’s the drain pump, so….I will go and try what you suggest (turning it off first)!
Thanks again – I’ll let you know!

Hi again
Well I disconnected the drain pipe and tried it – it starts off with the drain pump humming away, then the machine starts to take in water as though it’s going to work, but then after a couple of seconds, the error message comes up. As the water is being taken in, it’s also coming out of the end of the drain pipe. When the error code comes up the drain pump is on and won’t go off no matter how long you leave it – it’s almost like it’s stuck on.
Also now, the connector between the mains water and where the pipe comes off to go into the dishwasher has started to leak – only a drip but I wondered whether there was increased pressure because the water wants to go in there but keeps stopping because for some reason it won’t take the water in beyond a couple of seconds?!
Hmmm….it might be time for a new dishwasher after all by the look of it! Unless there are any other suggestions?
Much appreciated – thank you!
Liz

A-01 is displayed when the float switch in the base is activated. It could be that there is still water in the base enough to activate the switch or it could even be a faulty switch. The leak is most likely due to you moving the appliance. The best way to empty the base of water is to tilt the appliance back. BE VERY CAREFUL THIS IS WHERE WATER AND ELECTRICS DONT MIX.

Hello again.
I would like to thank those who helped me recently. In the end we tilted the machine until no more water was coming out, but it still showed the error message, so we just left it for a day or two and then tried it again and all was fine and it’s worked numerous times since then. No more A01 error code.
No….now we have A13! Suddenly today after quite a few successful cycles, it’s throwing A13 at us. The list of error codes I got off the internet doesn’t really help me to understand what’s wrong I must say. It’s all clear and clean after we really checked it all out last time. It had been running OK, there’s no hint of a blockage but it just won’t do anything except flash A13 at us (sigh).
So, yet again, if anyone has any advice we would be grateful!

Just spotted another post about A13 – sorry I should have checked that first – the computer board is not firing the dispenser properly!? Sounds like something I can’t fix myself this time!?

ParticipantRe: Indesit DE73 – A01 error code, A13 error code, A02……
Months later I return as having been very pleased that it cured itself of A13 we now have A02!
Just a quick question if anyone would be good enough to help.
Is there anything at all I can do other than get someone in or get a new machine?
I am seriously thinking new machine, given all the problems so that being the case, can anyone recommend one that is significantly better and less likely to cause problems than this one?
It seems this was a false enconomy and I don’t want to make that mistake again!
Thank you!! 😀

Water inlet valve has failed, assuming that the code has come up correctly (they don’t always). You’ll need to wield a test meter to make sure. Power off, of course.
Regarding your other comments, I would only say that there is better product out there…….. 😀

Thank you – although I have no idea what a test meter is or how to get hold of one (or use it). However….it does seem to be OK at the moment so maybe you are right and it didn’t show the right code anyway! I’ll keep fingers crossed as the longer we can keep hold of this and eek it out…the better for our bank balance.
Thanks as ever for help and advice – much appreciated!
