ParticipantHi,
My Whirlpool has gone through two stages of failure.
The first one was that it would do the wash but it would not heat. At the same time as this fault there was another one. The cycle would end, but not quite. You would have to press the button again to get it to finish. After you pressed the button it went on for about 2 minutes and then was ready for the next load. Amazingly it would clean pretty well like this. But now a new fault has developed. If you hit the button it makes a sound like it is trying to fill, but can’t, and then, after perhaps 2 minutes, it gives up.
Throughout both of these problems the dishwasher consumed no salt.
Before all of this the dishjwasher had been abused pretty badly by not giving it any salt! I thought it was getting softwater from our water softener, but it wasn’t (groan).
Regards
Adrian

Hi Adrian,
Normally with the whirlpool dishwashers if it does not heat then it will stop during the cycle and the programme lights should flash.Does any light flash?
Also if you can give the 85…. number ?

Holding down the button “at the end of the cycle” will cancel the programme………. Count the flashes, before you cancel it.

[Adrian – Yes, thanks for reminding me of this. It does get stuck and the lights do flash. If I press the button for four seconds it starts again, but the problem persists.]

[Adrian – I would love to. Where is it to be found?]

The flashing light just keeps flashing. It doesn’t stop so there is no particular number of flashes.

Continuous flashing indicates a fault with the NTC. Click on shop@, I’m sure you’ll find it in there.
