Problem: water leaks from door at hinges.
Machine is levelled, using normal dish washer powder, door gaskets are in good condition.
After taking off the front outer panel when the machine is running I can see that the floor pan protrudes about 1 cm beyond the bottom of the door across the entire width. When the machine is running water comes underneath the edge of the door and sloshes – right to left – and since the skirt gasket is perfectly fine the only release for the water is at the hinges – mainly the left one.
When I close the door and put a torch inside I can see that there is about 2mm of clearance between the door bottom and the floor pan. I assume it was never actually meant to seal (door to floor)- or at least, I have no extra gasket on this lip – and no evidence that there ever was one.
My theory is that something conrolling the water level is allowing the level to rise a bit too high. I have dismantled the rest of the m/c and there is no eveidence of any blockages that might hinder drainage.
Q: How does this m/c regulate the depth of water? Does the pressure switch control the spray pressure – and so might the extra water pressure be the issue?

There is a modified 3 sided door seal fror this appliance which is supposed to sort this problem. P/no 31X9540, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering.
However……….. Clean everything you can access – seals, door bottoms, make especially certain that the rotors are clear and have no splits.
The pressure switch is operated by the displacement of air in a catchment chamber. Sludge accumulating in the chamber can affect the water level, but not the pumping pressure. The circulation motor will only run at one speed, so water dispersion rate is constant regardless of volume of water in appliance.
Power off before attacking anything.

Forgot to mention – there was a split seam on the lower rotor. I tried to superglue it over night- but that didn’t hold. So I heat sealed it instead. Is there a reliable way to do it? I did it with a hot knife !!
I also took up an extra notch on the door latch (not that that’ll make a huge difference).
I’m toying with the idea of putting polyurethane baffles in the bottom of the doot to stop the “sloshing” action of the water as it comes under the inner edge of the door.The 3 sided gasket you mention – is for the LHS, top and RHS of the door (ie a replacement for the one fitted already)- or for the lower edge of the door?
The pressure switch was in pretty good condition…likewise nothing that I cleaned out had much evidence of contamination. I didn’t strip the salt chamber – though that seemed to have a kind of pink crystalline discolouration visible through the plastic.

The seal described is the “goalpost” around the door opening. If the lower rotor is split, replace it first. P/no 31X9985, around £15 from memory. spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one quickly.
