This post in the public forums was not answered and i just wondered why?

I have always put this down to waterlogged insulation which freezes causing a cold spot that does not defrost properly. As water from each defrost comes into contact with it, it causes the buildup of ice. I may be totally wrong on this and if i am please correct me. But i just wondered why the post was not answered.
