ParticipantHi Guys I wonder if anyone can offer any advice please?
We have what was described 2 weeks ago on the engineers report as a very good condition 7-year-old Hotpoint Aquarius Ultima 1200 Model Number WM722P washing machine. The machine is covered by insurance the engineer checked it over and said it would take two weeks to get the required parts.
A power module Kit part number AKO 546 655 and also a new door switch. After fitting these new parts the LCD display displayed the same original fault.
Saying : Close door. Now the engineer is telling us this very condition washing machine is scrap!!
Albeit and in fairness I can see burnouts on the tracks of the original PCB of the power module (AKO 546 655) proving the engineer was obviously right in replacing it, he hasnβt offered any further explanation of what the real problem is now.
Heβs just written the machine off scarp, which seems to me like Iβve been paying insurance for nothing.
I want to complain further about this, but feel I need to know what other fault /s there could be?
I would be very grateful of advice of what the problem is.
Thanx & cheers hondoJanuary 31, 2007 at 8:36 pm #202907cessna

Have a look at the door seal on the right side near the door lock and around towards the top.
Are there any holes in it that can cause water to splash on to the power board above or door interlock to the right?
If the machines been written off and you are insured then you will be given a replacement of an equivalent model.
To be honest if the insurance agree to the write off and replace it they have honoured their agreement.
Can’t see what you can complain about.January 31, 2007 at 8:54 pm #202908hondo

Thanx cessna for the reply. π
I’m sorry I should have said, the door seal was replaced at the same time as the AKO 546 655 PCB so it shouldn’t be that.

If there were blown tracks on the PCB, it is possible that the edge connector feeding the door interlock is damaged and not completing the circuit.

π Hi indespoint, its printed on the box the guy left, from which he took the new Power Module PCB. Part 1603283
Is that significant?
I dunno what this is, but handwritten on the part number label is the number 1059713 but this might be nothing though π -
