ParticipantI have a friend who is looking for an integrated washer/Dryer. They have seen a Siemens machine and been told by the shop where seen it is manufactured in Germany.
I know the Bosch machines are made in numerous locations around Europe and wondered if this is the case with the Siemens?
I had heard that there were problems with vibration on the new Siemens, does anyone know if these problems been resolved or should the new machines be avoided.
Also, are the Siemens machines better than the Bosch?

I know that the Bosch and Neff integrated laundry products were temporarily unavailable. Whatever the reason was, they are now in stock at both suppliers. So I guess this issue could have extended to Siemens too :con:

Nope, it’s not a wind-up Martin….but I can see why you think it could be.
Let me explain.
I don’t normally supply machines, I just repair so only get to see them once they are out of guarantee so in Siemens, Bosch & Neff’s case after they are 2 years old. I don’t know if it’s the same for most but I see plenty of Bosch branded machines but not that many Siemens.
My understanding is they are ‘all’ manufactured in the EU and not necessarily Germany. On the whole they use the same motors, brushes and pumps etc so are more or less the same, with cosmetic differences for different branding.
This said, the Siemens is marketed as an upmarket model attempting to compete with Miele so ‘where’s the difference’.
As I deal with a local supplier I realise suppliers are more likely to be in the know as to where machines are manufactured/sourced, so when a supplier (not known to me) states the Siemens are manufactured in Germany I don’t disregard this off hand but thought I would double check.
I called a friend who has worked with Appliance Care for the last 12 years and he wasn’t 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain. What he did say though, was they had a lot problems with the Siemens Washer/Dryer vibrating, the only way this was resolved was swapping out the machine. Unfortunately I don’t know how recently this was so wondered if this is a known problem and if it’s resolved.

The one shown on the Siemens web site is clearly a SMEG.February 2, 2007 at 7:57 pm #203006Twoten

No chance, they have a small garden with a hot tub, and I think thats far nicer to sit in at midnight half cut looking at the stars than a shed.
I have tried to convince them to get separate machines as I do with everyone but sometimes it’s just not an option.

No!
Only Teknik are Hoovers! :lesson:The intergrated Siemens/Neff/Bosch washer dryers are Smeg :sadder: but not intergrated washers.
(for now)The free standing washer dryers are B/S/H Spanish made. The Spanish washer dryer is quite good these days.
All the washing machines are B/S/H produced in Poland,Spain and the higher end types in Germany.
As already suggested, seperate appliances are the better solution.

So on the basis the integrated Washer/Dryers are manufactured by Smeg they would be Italian.
Thanks everyone for the info,
Keith.
