    Our Bosch Silver Edition (model SGS5358GB/17) has in the last month twice made a bang and tripped the main kitchen circuit. However, switching it on again it has been fine. But I guess this need attention – what is the best fault finding procedure for this? I see from other posts that it may be the mains suppressor or some dodgy joint on the circuit board?

    Hi,

    It might not be the machine itself; it may be a faulty wall socket.

    Someone else on this forum had bangs coming from their machine. It turned out to be a lack of earthing to the wall socket.

    My advice is call an electrician to check the socket, before considering calling for a machine repairer.

    With the appliance un-plugged, I would be looking for a faulty mains supressor within the machine as a starter as they have been known to cause this fault.
