As per the thread title, this double oven locks out both ovens in their selection displays (each oven has an electronic control/pcb and a central LED clock), and in each oven display you get ” -S- “. It looks something like a cleaning type symbol like some of the electronic hoods give out. I cannot see anything untoward, and everything appears to meter as I would imagine.
The fault in each oven display appeared within a week of each other,(main oven first), but I find it hard to believe both displays went faulty at a similar time which is why I thought it might be cleaning/service type thing related.

Any ideas please, as both units are nicely expensive and would probably make for an economical repair.

After some discussion, it could be “-5-” in the display rather than an “S”.

    This is not a fault.
    It is indeed a “S” not a “5”.
“S” for “safe” is a child lock.
To operate the lock (on + off) you have to turn the selector switch from the 12 o’clock to 1 o’clock and back again several times quickly.
    I think it’s 3 or 5 times IIRC.

    Tell customer to R.T.F.M.

Incase your customer has lost his/her instruction manual, I have emailed one over to you. It will explain exactly the same as BSH-MAN has and will help them for further issues should they arise 😀
