Just moved into a new house the other day that came with a brand new Diplomat ADP8332 installed (integrated). Feeling rash, I ran it on an empty rinse cycle to check how it worked. It did fine for the first 10 minutes, and then started beeping loudly.

Without the instruction book in sight (still not found) I set about pressing buttons to make it stop. I eventually held down the start button which seemed to reset the damn thing.

I tried again, undeterred. Same deal. This time I notice the start light flashing 4 times. Repeating the reset procedure, I then left it a day and tried to get it goign again.

This time it did the same. But when I open the badboy up its full of water in the bottom that will not drain. I pulled out the filters in the bottom but they look brand new.

A bit of ferreting around the back of it revealed nothing loose or twisted on the pipes, and I see no sign of it leaking on the floor. But I can’t shift the water.

It appears to have the waste water pipe connected just above the U-bend of the sink, and at some point water must have passed through it because it wasn’t that well fitted and it was a bit leaky.

The only other bit of intel I have is that the sink appears to have been used to clean paint brushed and stuff…

    So – doctors – what’s the prognosis?

PS – the blimmin developer has left me without the invoice from Howdens (it’s an MFI kitchen, so I am assuming it’s an MFI/Howdens supplied dishwasher) so I can’t get a free visit by an engineer under warranty – despite it being less than 4 months old! Damn!

Just a thought as it`s a new build. Remove the waste hose from the sink spigot and check to see if the spigot tip has been cut off to allow the water to drain away. Installers do tend to forget to cut these off . We have known this to be the case time and time again in new builds. Otherwise it`s probably engineer time 😉 .

Your developer should have a copy of the invoice for their records – try contacting their sales office and asking if they’ll send you a copy
