    Hi,

We have had the above oven for 3 years but I believe it is somewhere in the region of 14 years old now.

It has recently deleloped a fault, the oven will only get luke warm.

Is this likely to be something easy to fix, or is it best to just scrap the oven?

We don’t have the money for a new oven or to get an engineer out really so i was hoping it would be something I might be able to takle myself,

    Thanks in advance

    Ben

Probably just an element failure Ben. Whilst the elements aren’t what I’d call cheap, they’re a whole lot cheaper than a new cooker. All you need to do is suss what one is goosed and get Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk to get you the required bit.

    Hi

normal problem is the base element as the top element would be working.

    Cheers for the replys guys,

Right so it sounds like it may be one of the elements, how would i go about finding which element it is that need replacing?

If I switch the oven on to the conventional setting (no fan assist) it seems to get hot, but the temperature indicator light doesn’t switch off (which it used to when it had reached the selected temperature)

If I have it in the fan assisted setting the oven no longer seems to warm up at all now, does this help at all in narrowing down the problem to one of the elements?

    Cheers

    Ben

You’d have to get into them and test them with a meter for continuity basically. Does sound as if the fan element is totally goosed though.
