I wondered whether someone could help?

I think the pump may be blocked as there was some water in the bottom of the dishwasher – probably half a bucket or so. None of the LEDs were lit up, so if there had been any kind of error message, I have missed it! It seemed to have finished the cycle, but not pumped some of the water away.

We’ve just taken the sides off to see if we can check if there’s a blockage, but cannot actually reach the pump assembly from the side – too many bits and pieces in the way!

Is there an easy way to do this, or should I call an engineer? Dishwasher is approx 3 years old, so way out of guarantee.

Sorry if this has appeared elsewhere on the forum – I did a search, but couldn’t find anything.

    Many thanks in advance.

Definitely an awkward one to solve. There is only one pump motor on this appliance. It spins one for circulation and reverses for drain.

Check the obvious first – no blockage at the sink coupling? Next, select the rinse only programme and check that the motor is actually running. If it is, there may be a blockage in the drain hose or pump outlet. If it doesn’t run, the motor may be physically jammed, the start capacitor may have failed, or the motor itself.

Rather a lot of possibilities on a rather complex machine, so pro help may be your best bet. Use the link below to find a UKW engineer in your area.

Power off if you are going to investigate further.

    Regards,

Thanks for the reply – I think the problem might be more terminal as I cannot even run a rinse program. Power on/off switch works, but no others. Have checked the obvious, no blockage at the sink end, so clearly an issue within the machine.

Quite honestly, with all the possible solutions, and in the light of the fact that this is the third problem in the last 10 months, I think we’re off to buy a new one!

    Any recommendations?!

    Many thanks

Always been a bit of a Bosch fan, myself. Or Miele, but you pay…….

    Good luck,

Re: Zanussi DE6850 – Not draining

Thanks a lot! We’ve just been looking around a couple of websites and Bosch seem to be very popular.

Not sure we can stretch to a Miele, but would be lovely…

    Cheers
