I saw somewhere that S.Power had also grabbed the Glen Dimplex work from N.E.S.N. as well.
Terry Jackson from S/Power insisted that Mr T was only a glorified salesman, shows what little he knows.

KeymasterWell, rumour has it…
That SP are actually paying the repairers more than they are getting paid in some cases to swipe the work from wherever they can. Don’t see that lasting too long.
Rumour also has it that the pot of cash that they had from investors is also nearing the end. Not good when coupled with the above.
Rumour also has it that Dave Ince has been buying up browngoods repairers to shore up the network. Again, not exactly good news when coupled with the above.
But if you want an entertaining read go to their website and read the accounts section and the directors interim report for 2006. Which pretty much bears out the fact that they’re losing money hand over fist. The £800K TURNOVER from Empire isn’t going to right the wrongs there by a long stretch.
My summation m’laud is that this crew are unlikely, under the present conditions, to see out 2007 as from what I can see they are trading insolvently, which is illegal in case you didn’t know.
Given the right opening I may be tempted to post this stuff openly in the rumour mill, should be an entertainment. 😉

Old news, but may not have been aired before
SERVICEPOWER TECHNOLOGIES PLC
(“SERVICEPOWER” OR THE “COMPANY”)
New Business Venture
ServicePower, the recognised market leader in artificial intelligence based,
field service scheduling solutions and computer services, today announced it
has launched its Field Service Solutions (FSS) suite of products into Europe.
In March 2004 ServicePower acquired certain assets of Keyprestige in the US and
launched a range of services to assist US companies to manage and control
service jobs performed by independent service organisations. These services
include electronic despatch of jobs, claim form processing, audit of claims,
recruitment of servicers through to provision of a total service delivery.
These services were initially planned to be offered to the white goods
industry, pioneered by GEC&P and Whirlpool, but there has been such a positive
response from the consumer electronics industry that the Company has launched a
series of products designed specifically for that industry. Since then the
Company, as previously reported, has won a significant contract with USD-TV for
the installation of set-top boxes, and several contracts with manufacturers
such as Hisense, Westinghouse, Sharp, Phillips etc for the installation and
repair of large plasma TV screens.
The early customers in the consumer electronics industry have been actively
encouraging us to support their European operations. After investigation the
Directors are convinced there is a similar opportunity in Europe as the US and
with the advantage of little competition to our established claims processing
business.
The key to the company’s success has been to recruit Chris Smith who has a
strong background in the retail sector at a senior level, the staff of
Keyprestige that understand the independent servicer market and world-leading
IT technology from ServicePower. To duplicate the model in Europe the Directors
looked to recruit recognised leaders in the industry and the Company is pleased
to announce the appointment of David Brock as Managing Director of ServicePower
FSS Europe. David has extensive experience in the retail sector having been a
director of the Powerhouse Retail group and a director of a warranty logistics
management company. David will bring with him a strong team including Jonathan
Trubshaw, formerly the managing director of the National Electronic Service
Network (NESN).
ServicePower has acquired the IPR of a recently formed company, Xpoint
Solutions for a nominal amount and commenced trading on 4th January 2005. The
new business has already won a number of contracts, worth in excess of £250,000
per annum, to deliver a total service solution for the repair of in-car, home
entertainment and computer products across Europe.
“The key to launching a service business is to have the very best management
who know the industry well. I am proud that David Brock and his team have
agreed to join ServicePower and I am very confident they will quickly become
the leading supplier of service solutions via independent servicers to the UK
and Europe” commented David Brisco, CEO of ServicePower.
Note: ServicePower refers to the company and SERVICEPower refers to the
product.

Old news. 😉
And that photo is an old one from the old NESN site of Herr Trubshaw.
What’s more interesting is looking at the financials on the SP website, the half yearly report makes for particularly entertaining reading.

KeymasterTBH I’ve heard noting about them for months, which would generally indicate that there’s booger all happening with them in the whitegoods side.
