Hi Folks, maybe somebody can help me,
I have a 6/ 7 year old washing machine that has the following prob,

it fills with water but then it doesn’t do anything like it shoulld like start turning and washing. It sits there making a ticking sound and that seems to be it. When I move on the dial a bit it will spin won’t wash.

I checked the outlet at the bottom and there were a few coins and buttons in it, now removed.
    Has anybody any suggestions?,
    Tks in advance
    Pat

Hmm – elderly AWM series machine. Likely problems……. Carbon brushes in the drive motor- these wear out with time. Dry joint on the motor speed control PCB was a classic fault with these machines. Broken wires at the motor plug was another. Possible if it spins, but won’t wash, the timer is at fault – different set of switches in the programme timer.

Few things to think about – stay safe if investigating, power off.

    Regards,
