Its been faultless since purchase (6 years) but just today stopped doing anything after the first load – lights are on, but when you press start, the ‘dry’ led light comes on, but no pump motor and no drum rotation. Drum revolves freely, no burning smell. I clean the front filter and condenser regularly. Interior light is on when door open and the front panel leds all looks sensible. Changing program makes no difference. It just sits there!
Any idea whats wrong?
I hope its something easy(cheap) 😥I’m an electronics engineer so happy to delve in. 😛
Thanks

Check the screws in the non-hinged side of the plastic frontage are tight, then try some WD40 into the lock mechanism. Shut and open the door a few times. I often find sticky door lock mechanisms cause just this sort of thing….all lights on but nothing happens.

i take it its a sensor type condenser dryer?

if it is a condensor btw, and the dry light comes on , it could just be a sticky float switch.. however the fact it has an interior light suggests itll be one of the bosch models built like a tank, and i wouldnt advise u play with it
proffessional advice should be sought to be honest, but plug out if ur gonna play

Thanks for the suggestions.
Yes its a condensing unit and you are right its built like a tank. I’ve found the exploded parts view from the bosch site – not too scarey.
I dont think its the door switch as the dry light does not come on if you press start with the door is open, so its sensing that the door is closed ok.
I did find a mention on another forum to the NTC thermister on the heater being open circuit. Another guy said he wiggled all the connectors on his then put it back together and it worked again.
Time to delve (unplugged)

When you say dry lamp comeson, does it flash at all?
Also which dry lamp is it “Iron, cupboard or extra”?

It has a series of 4 dryness level lights starting with dry, then iron dry, cupboard dry and finally extra dry.
On start, it just lights the dry light – it does not flash.
Normally when you press the start button, the dry light comes on and then as far a I recall the pump would start, then the drum turn.
Its as if the machine is waiting for something, before starting the pump.
It doesn’t seem to think there is a fault – nothing flashes.
Could that be a clue? Some sensor related to the pump? Thanks

Hi
It could be a faulty door lock or faulty power module.
If there was any sensor faults you would normally get an error code displayed by the lamps. To be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure I would find an engineer from link below if you exhaust your fault location.
