Hi. My new diplomat adp8332 does not work. When I turn the power the power LED lights up. However none of the other buttons respond. Any ideas?

Perhaps a connector has become detached in transit. Is this new new, or new to you? If it literally brand new, I would leave it alone and get Service.

    Re: NO RESPONSE FROM BUTTONS

HI. Well its not brand new. However it has never been used. I took it off a friend who bought it new and had this fault. The supplier replaced the item and never picked up the old one.

I unscrewed the front panel of the washer and there was a connector which look a bit slack. So I pushed it further in and hey the buttons started to respond. Then when I was screwing the panel back on the buttons stopped working, and the programme select LED started to go through all the cycles by itself. I then moved the control box/panel away from the main washer body and the buttons started working again, then I applied the control unit back to the main body ( ready to screw it back into possition.) and they stopped working again. ANY IDEAS?? Thanks for your response

    Re: NO RESPONSE FROM BUTTONS

Definitely sounds like something’s loose. However, you mustn’t work on it live – I certainly wouldn’t and I’ve been repairing for the best part of 20 years.

Make sure the top board is secure on it’s mountings and perhaps gently crimp the connectors for a better contact.
