I need to fit a new heater element and thermostat(s) to my TDC62S tumble dryer. I have no problem finding the heater element but where exactly is the thermostat? Do I have to take the back panel that supports the heater element off to get to the thermostat(s)? (previous posts on this topic suggest that there are two thermostats?)

Why do you need to fit a new heater & thermostats, have you actually tested the heating element for continuity, ( if you have then you shouldn’t be asking where the stats are.) 😉

There was no hot air as per previous posts, so I took the shaped outer panel off the back to take a look at the heater coils and damaged them in doing so. From reading the previous posts on this tumble dryer it sounds like it was really a thermostat problem – so now I have to fix both.

I’ve just realised that the thermostats were right in front of me. The RHS one will click when pushed but the green spot one is dead. They were smaller than I expected and the buttons are on the underside which is why I didn’t realise they were there.

If you do get new stats be very careful not to press on the green spot one or you will render it instantly U/S. It is a ‘one shot’ safety stat and will not reset.

PS All these parts are available from the forum shop.
