I’ve got a large siemens larder fridge and I had a problem a while back where the fridge would not cool anything. On advice from this forum I replaced the thermostat. The fridge cools ok but then doesn’t just stop cooling but carries on and freezes food. If I turn the dial down it then clicks off but then stops cooling altogether and I get the other extreme with it reaching 10 degrees C. I have to turn the power off and on again to reset it.
Could it be possible that I haven’t pushed the thermostat wire far enough in or have pushed it in to far?

The siemens badge has worn away so I can’t identify the exact model.

    Hi Sati,

Where did you get the thermostat, what was it you got and how was it identified without a model number?

The problem is that some of them, well many these days, areunique to a cabinet or range of products and are often not interchangeable. So, if you’ve been given the wrong stat or just had a guess and used a universal one, that may well be the cause of it overfreezing.

Likewise, if the phial is not correctly placed that could also cause an issue on fitting the stat.

    K.
