Hi ive tried doing a search for the reset code but calnt find it, Im wondering if there is a reset procedure for this dishwasher, At this very moment its working away but never getting to the end of the cycle, counts down to 1 min to go then bumps another 32 mins on top drains fills then starts a cycle again, this can happen time after time untill it finaly finishes. thats the reason i think a total reset will put the machine back to normal. So please, please HELP

Doug,
You could try this; not sure if it’s valid for the later machines:“Reset Procedure
Switch on and press the programme button 4 times, within 3 seconds. The 1st and 5th lamps should light…….. You may have to do this several times before it works! Assuming that it does, switch off, count to 10, switch on and run the rinse programme only.”Also the dispenser causes weird problems on these machines – dodgy solenoid or connectors can throw the computer.

😀 Thanks Penguin 😀 I will try that tomorow, It has had a new soap dispenser fitted so could be worth trying your reset sugestion, at the moment iv’e removed the programer board to look for dry joints and noticed a slight green colour like damp has eaten into three of the eprom chip legs, If i remove this chip to clean it will it loose all its data?
photo of board with chip if you zoom in you can see the corosion to the chip legs (just) 😀

It wont loose its data, as it has no power when switch off anyway, not to say that static might not wreck it though and sometimes its tricky to get them pins back in the socket without an insertion tool. as anyone who changes indesit eeproms knows all too well.

You don’t need any insertion tool for Eeprom. Make all with your fingers but be careful at pins (Don’t touch pins) beacause static voltage from your body can damage Eeprom.
Just seen your photo… You don’t have there separate Eeprom… it’s just microcontroler.
DO what Chris told you to do (for Reset)… 8)Baron

Tried the reset code several times with no luck, took a program board from a known working smeg and tried again with the same program but it did just the same as when it had the old program board in, So, it must be someting else…it throws no error messages up and the dispenser draw was replaced a year ago, Wonder if its the dispenser draw again. Just when i thought i had the better of the smeg 👿 So. please help 😕
