ParticipantI have a Candy CNA 166 which is about 18 months old and have had reason to move the washer around on a number of occasions. On each occasion all the water was drained via the filter housing and the transit bolts installed. On reinstallation the washer would not start a program and instead the drum would just rotate continuously until swiched off. I was advised the PCB was at fault so i changed it only for the problem to continue! I was then told to change the pressure switch which I did only for the same thing to happen again. Fed up and about to go on holiday we left the washer until we came back, On retuning and trying the washer it worked with out problems so I put the original PCB back in and everything was fine. That is until I had course to again transport it to a new house when we again had the same thing happen. This time we left it alone for a few day and tried it again, it worked without problems until, Yes! it had to be moved again!. Again the same thing, we were left waiting several days for it to decide it liked its new surroundings before it started to work again.
We now have to transport it again and the wife is refusing to wait this time for it to get to know its new home before it starts up!.
Please does anybody know was going on with it? its like it has some sort of tilt device on it 😕 and it wont start until it has reset its self after several days of remaining still!. I’m a sparky by trade so Ive checked the wiring and cant find anything wrong in that department and as Ive said its had the PCB changed and the pressure switch so those can be counted out. I really cant see what else it can be 😥 , please please does someone have the answer?.

I would suggest starting at the other end of the pressure switch – follow the air hose to the back of the drum and clean out the chamber. Severe sludging there can cause all sorts of weird things to happen.
Can’t you just settle down? Might be simpler 😀 .
Power off, if you are going to investigate this.

Thanks penguin I will try what you suggested tho I did blow down the tube when I changed the pressure switch and it seemed clear, but we will see what happens.
Just a thought 💡 someone told me check the water thermostat as it might have loose connections internally that is causing this to happen when it is disturbed by moving the machine :rolls: what do you think?
Unfortunately my wife’s job means we have to move quite often and I cant bare to part with money for a new machine 😆 + the darn things not going to get the better of me? 😀
Thank you, Ken

Does the ‘Start’ LED and ‘Prewash’ LED flash when this fault occurs?

The start led light flashes until the start button is pressed and then the led goes to the washing led, the prewash led stays off and only comes on if I select a prewash program. So I think the led”s are behaving normally 😯

That’s OK then but usually when a fault occurs both these LED’s flash simultaneously to indicate a ‘fault code’ 😉

Blimey, well as the LED’s ain’t flashing any error code it would be a stab in the dark from me? 😕
Here goes…………Motor plug connection? 😉

Just checked the pressure switch tube and chamber nothing in there and clean as a whistle!, took out the thermostat and rotated it in several directions and gave it a few taps to no effect!, unplugged the motor plug and checked the terminals on it and on the motor and could find nothing 😥 .
surely we (i) cant be stumped by a washing machine? Its crazy and making me crazy with it 😆 Anybody else have any ideas as to why it is behaving like this?????????? 😉

Let’s hope not eh? Please bare with us from this remote location it can be tricky but together we’ll either crack it or bin it, one or the other! 😉
So, Module OK, Pressure Switch OK, Air Chamber OK, Motor connection OK and no error codes coming from the front panel….???
Time to get the multi meter out and the insulation tester. Check the heater, motor, wiring harness connectors to module and the triacs on the board. Then run the diagnostics cycle if all else fails – though the latter a Candy engineers own prerogative and not available outside. 🙁

Ok so I checked the heater element resistance and it was 29 ohm”s I already did the insulation test and checked the harness, didnt look at the triacs as the other board I have when connected results in the washer behaving in the same way. I havent checked the motors resistance as of yet will do that in the morn. Even when I disconnected the heater element the washer carried on with the behavior? :rolls:,
So from what you said I cant run a diagnostics as only Candy have I guess the software to do that?. The whole thing is very strange :rolls: Do you have many like this?
