HI – a non-technical new boy looking for help!

We have a Samsung SR2029CSS American side-by-side fridge/freezer, which (apparently) suddenly has temperature problems. Both the fridge and freezer are seeing increasing temperatures, which from reading these forums appears to be an ice/fan problem. However, I am insufficiently technically able to identify whether this is the problem or not, and I want to be sure I have checked out all DIY repairs before calling in an expert – and to be sure he/she can concentrate on the right issues, at the call-out rates!

It might be because we had a power cut last night, although the lights are on and the cooler seems to be making a noise.

I regularly changed the water filter and hoover the back around the fans, there is plenty of ventilation around the rear of the appliance, and the area is dust-free.

What else can/should I do, other than call the engineer!

    Thanks

    John

Two questions/two answers. If it is less than two years old call Samsung as you are covered by two year parts and labour guarantee. If it is older than two years try ‘repairs@’ for a suitable qualified engineer.
