Not certain about model No:, just spoken to customer on phone, going tomorrow.

Says he had a couple of power cuts due to some outside lighting blowing.

He thinks this has affected washer but I am not so sure.

Not seen one of these before, apparantly a light comes on but machine will not start, he thinks door won’t lock but he was a bit vague.

Any known faults on these? it is only 18 months old apparantly.

    Jim.

Any power interruptions can make triacs blow on the circuit board (first place to look) 😉

Thanks Martin, may phone him and advise him to take advantage of his five year parts cover.

Does that mean that even switching the machine off accidentally at the plug could cause this failure. 😥

Extremely unlikely I would think. 😕

I didn’t know Hoover had 5 yr warranty? Oh, as to the door lock thing – the door probe return spring on these are a weakness? So it may just be that?

I don’t think so Jim (I’m surely) one power lose do triac to blow but overvoltage do. Perhaps it’s just coincidence with thunderstruck.
I’ve had some jobs with Candy_Hoover and could be just On/Off button, door lock, carbon brush…

Thanks again, I may go and have a look, only problem is that is right at the far edge of my area.

Hoover did introduce a five year parts warranty several years ago. I have not read any user manuals recently but the last one I saw still had the five year cover mentioned.

Sorry if things got at bit lost in translation Baron, 😉 There was no thunderstorm in this case. He had some outside lights that had fused a couple of times taking out the power to the house.

Just come back from this call. The fault had been caused by a ‘short circuit’ a mental one, not electrical. :rolls:

After a quick visual I plugged in, set to spin, pressed Start/Pause button and away it went perfectly. Cancelled and tried a wash programme with the same results.
This bloke lives on his own and when he watched me start the machine he said, I normally press the Start/Delay button to start it. 😯

He insists that he has always done this but you and I know better. 😉

To be honest the two buttons are close together and it would make sense to label one the Start/Pause button and the other the Delay/Start button rather than the Start/Delay button.

    Jim.
