My wife put the dishwasher on last week and after about 4 hours the progamme knob had not moved. I am assuming the motor on the timer has given up. It has power getting to it and all the drive gears appear to be intact. I have removed it from the back of the timer and when it powers up it does not rotate just oscilates back and fourth.
Guess it needs new timer unit. Is £30 from espares a good price?

Have you tried the programme on a rinse cycle? timers do go faulty but there is quite a few other faults that will give you the same fault.

    Hi Kirk
    Thanks for reply.
Seems to move but is erratic and quite noisy(not sure if it was always that noisy).
I suppose another fault can cause timer not to rotate if a something hasnt completed its operation. ie water not reached correct temp.
Think I need to start from the beginning.
