Hi , Have a Hoover HDV7 FM tumble dryer & would be grateful for any advice. Usually set timer then press on/off button & away you go but will now only work if you keep the on/off button depressed. Also it emits a buzzing relay type noise from behind the front panel at the same time.Sometimes if you keep the button depressed the buzzing stops & then the dryer starts working as normal. Regards Bob

Thank you very much for your kind advice, have placed the order via you link. What an unbelievible site this is, you guys advised me how to fix my dishwasher safely a couple of months ago and now my dryer. Sods law always dictates that domestic appliances always fail in 3’s so expect I’ll be back soon for help on my washing machine ! Best regards Bob

    Re: hoover tumble dryer fault

This is the same fault as mine – I’ve now replaced the relay and it’s working! Found this post on google!
My struggle was to find out how to get the front off it’s easy now I’ve cracked it but I thought I’d post how to take the front off in case anyone else out there is struggling.
Unplug! Remove the top by undoing the 3 screws at the back and sliding the wooden top out. Remove the side plastics (loosen screws in slots). Remove the 4 screws at the front. Tilt the dryer and remove 4 screws at the front underneath. Open the door and remove 11 screws around the opening. note the 3 screws by the filter are shorter for when you come to re- assemble. The front then pulls off and you can get at the 2 screws that hold the PCB on. I had to cut the cable tie and move the wires to get enough access but easy enough. Hope this helps someone! sianyfix.
