I have a 7 year old Creda T602CW condenser dryer which has stopped spining.
I have removed the top and sides and can see that the belt has snapped and come off.
Having called a couple of service centres, the call out charges are around £72 plus the cost of a belt. A local repair centre told me that having taken the casing off, replacing the belt shouldn’t be too difficult and I should have a go myself. Very honest and commendable attitude, but looking at the tension pulleys etc, I’m not sure its that straight forward.
Can anyone offer me a step-by-step idiot’s guide on what to do please?

your right – its not that straight forward and im not exactly sure that a ‘reputable’ repair center advising that it aint too difficult is the right thing to do

drum removal IS necessary, and theres a few sharp edges…..

i think its probaby best if someone who was qualified to do so did the repair , for safetys sake

cant comment on call out charges, as they differ greatly from firm to firm, but if you did attempt this repair, u must wear suitable safety gloves, and with the plug removed

    Thanks for the reply.
The service centre I refer to is an old established well respected company with a very good reputation that I have used before. They suggested that I attempt it myself and if I get stuck, they would still come and do it for me.
