    We have a Hoover Easy Logic EL160 which yesterday finished a wash/spin cycle okay.

    Today when switching the machine on we receive the message “Continuing Programme” and the machine does nothing (however long we wait).

    We have tried to clear/cancel/unplug, etc. as per manual for other issues. But manual does not mention this message!

    Can anyone shed any light on what this message means or how we reset this machine?

    theres only 2 ways u’ll ever reset that machine

    first is the way listed in the manual – that is to press and hold the start button for 15 seconds, regardless of the message on the display. there used to be a battery on the front board on the machine, so if u got stuck you could take out the battery and refit it to cancel everythin, but they changed that, and they take months now before they reset themselves


    if that doesnt work, itll probably need a control board (and a selector switch, if you want to make sure it’ll stay fixed)

    good machine, but the boards arent cheap

    Thanks very much for replying so promptly.

    Have tried the 15 seconds to no avail.

    Can see back of front panel & two batteries? They appear to be solded on, should I break the connection and reconnect, or is it a newer machine and not designed the same?

    Can you believe Hoover actually phoned first thing from a message left late on their web site!!

    Advisor said (and I am sceptical) either unplug machine, leave 5-10 minutes and restart, or call for an engineer! Just thought you might like to know.

    u cod try the battery thing… if u feel competent enuff

    id still put my money on the pcb myself!!!
