    hhmm

if youve pressed the button a bit too hard, the pcb becomes ‘dislodged’ and wont operate, sometimes refitting it works

other than that, the pcb and eprom need replacing, just make sure u unplug it and leave it a good 15mins before u investigate

    hope this helps

hi thanks for the quick reply, didnt really push the button hard , but it just beeped about 5-6 times then went off never to turn on again , if it is eprom and pcb where can i source these and at what cost ? 😉

You should not bother obtaining a module/eeprom yourself. The machine is covered for all parts for five years, you will only pay the labour charge which is not cheap but a new module & eeprom will cost you more.

i bought it second hand though so its either buy some parts or source another machine 😥

Biff, have you actually looked to see if any of the above comments apply? I might add that I’ve had a few where the start switch has actually fallen off the PCB. Which was nice.

spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will supply any spares you need, but electronics are not returnable under any circumstances………….

Tell them you have lost your invoice when you moved recently 😉
The date code on the machine will show that it is under 5 years old, they will be getting just under £90.00 of you so are unlikely to make much of a fuss. Far better than spending on very expensive parts that may or may not cure the fault.

Always assuming that someone has checked the start switch and PCB to make sure it has not been pressed in to far first, it is quite common.

    Re: Hotpoint wont turn on

    i think u misread wot i wrote

is not the switch that stics, its the pcb that moves and doesnt allow the switch to be activated

make sure the clear plastic piece behind the two buttons is clipped in, then refit the board ad test it, itll give u ur answer

    hope this helps
