visited today to carryout belt replacement on indesit T/D isv60

my wholesaler assurring me that a genuine replacement 1860 belt would fit the old 1866 belt, its a stretch belt, use same method as other strech belts.

I have never had such a torrid time or indeed such a long frustrating belt change in my life. let alone all the cuts from razor edges of the metal casings.

apart from my supplier flogging me a service sheet and belt stretcher gizzmo, with the words you might need it and also telling me the trade is refusing to carryout such repairs under health ands saftey grounds!Hasten to add i did not bother with said gizzmo device

IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE BELT THAT FITS WITHOUT STRAINING YOUR GUTS OUT . or indeed spending what seems an age to rebuild, when once you get the belt on..the drum assembly looks completely out ofline.

I have a creda T520VW to look at on saturday morning..it is the same size belt I understand. whilst having a little insight into problemsi still expect a long morning.

do indesit and creda enginneers have a target time for this operation, i hope they are not on a bonus scheme.

any short cuts around or quick solutions to carryout replacement.

    many thanks

15 mins, when u get the hang of it

1st try putting your foot on the belt and manually stretching it a little, its just tight, not nice….

the creda dryer might be the one with pulleys

hotpoint only supply the 1860 length belt for them, no other will do
although some part numbers are a bit stretchier.. namely the 1701658

yes theres lots of sharp edges, theres a wole post about them, if you look a little deeper
this one touches on the subject – http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … pic&t=4998

    hope this helps

yes i agree it’s 15 mins on average. i just use a big screwdriver to lever the belt onto the motor pulley. i have seen a few that were also scraping on the back of the casing. i solve this by fitting a couple of washers on the drum spindle.

You could try tool HPT5600178 belt fitting tool around £12, if its the same as Creda T510 or the TDL range then may help, could save you slicing wrists to pieces.

Re: Creda – Indesit Tumble dryers?

well could not quite make it 15 mins to complete

but thanks for tips regarding re- fitting new shorter belt. it certainally helped having a bit of advance information

Creda most certainaly easier to strip down the indesit.

and no cuts and brusies to worry about
