    Hi,

I’ve got a the above washing machine (Fisher & Paykel Kelvinator Smartdrive 501) and it’s playing up. It stopped half way through a wash and just beeped. Now it refuses to start – it waits about a minute and then just beeps.

    Following the diagnostics, I get a value of 128+4 = 132.

Does anyone have any ideas where to proceed from here?

    Many thanks,

    Tim

Motor is drawing too much power. Look for broken, chaffed or shorted wiring in the motor loom, especially where it turns under the drum. Look for any water damage. There may be a short in the motor windings themselves.

Check that the rotor position sensor is located properly on its mounting.

If all the above checks out, the motor controller may be at fault.

    Regards,

Thanks for that! That was a remarkably quick answer as well.

I had a quick look but it was beyond my ability to diagnose what was going wrong. Washing machine repairman said new motor is needed (which will cost about NZ$500) so I suspect it’s time for a replacement…

    Thanks for your help!
