ParticipantMachine is over 6 years old. Mechanically and electrically it has not been a problem.
Frustrating problem now is that at the end of wash programs the fabric conditioner has not been washed from the drawer and the washing is wetter than it should be because, presumably, it has not spun fast enough.
If, at the end of the wash, “Rinse and Spin” program is selected all is OK. New soap box was fitted about 18 months ago under five year extended warranty.March 4, 2007 at 8:41 pm #206374Penguin45

Wire operating water steering arm may have broken or become detached.
As far as the spin is concerned, worth checking filter and bottom hose for obstructions, as well as the sink coupling (if applicable). Failing that the drive motor carbon brushes may be nearly finished and need to be replaced.
Power off, before removing any panel.

Watched the whole process of water entering the washer through the holes in the top of the soap box yesterday with the soap drawer removed. Steering arm seemed to be working OK but the flow of water thtrough the fabric conditioner holes seemed poor. Poked them all out with a stick and flow improved considerably. Test run without washing seemed fine. However, I was a bit bothered when I looked carefully at these holes using a mirror that whilst they were normal round holes facing the soap drawer they seemed to be half obscured by plastic on the top side where the water comes in. Is this normal or should I try to drill them out. Can you get the top side of these holes after removing the washer lid?

I have not changed them yet as when I tried to gently pull the old ones off through the control panel they wouldn’t move and I didn’t want to risk damage on the controls themselves. What is the correct way to remove these knobs. Do I have to take the lid off?
Saves two threads for the same machine/problem. 😉

I’m afraid, as I’m new to this forum, that I don’t understand your reply kwatt.
