Hello, I have a problem with my Zanussi oven which hopefully you can help with.

It is a ZBQ965X (serial: 31020338). Last night, whilst it was being used, it made a loud bang and the oven and display went off, as if a fuse had blown. I turned the main switch off at the wall and back on, and the oven display turned on, but the fan stayed off.

The display then changed to, presumably a fault code, py2, alternating with the temperature slowly decreasing. This was accompanied by a clicking sound, just like when the temperature has been reached. This clicking sound has continued today, even though it is switched off. The clock still works and the button to change cooking modes works.

My thoughts are that the thermostat has failed, as there are multiple heating elements and I wouldn’t have thought it possible that they would all fail at the same time.

Any thoughts? If it is thermostat, would anyone know the part number?

    Thanks for any help.

sounds like the fan element has failed possible taking the thermostate with it, not unheard of
remember power off and isolate before working in this appliance safety first!

Well, it turned out to be the power card and lampholder. The power card was nicely singed underneath 😀

I had replaced the bulb with a generic oven bulb some time ago and it looks like that had blown and took out the power card with it.

Over £200 to repair, so expensive lesson learned; only use genuine manufacturer-specific oven bulbs.
