Participant7 flashes = flow meter fault 🙂 OWI or WI?
😕
If it’s the optical bit (OWI?)What goes wrong with them? Looks like a magnetic reed switch, is it? if it is does the magnet stick? 😕M

Flow meter isn’t the OWI or WI, that’s the black plastic grill in the sump.
Flow meter is in the water matrix, reed switch and tiny circuit board. Bad connection is the most common problem.
Idea is it sends pulses to the pcb and the (O)WI registers when a set amount of water has entered. Pcb then determines how long to fill to get the correct amount of water in.
If the pulses aren’t received or are received too slowly then it aborts the programme.
Hope that makes sense 😀Brian

Brian
Thanks Brian Thats clarified the confusion 😕 I though it was the reed switch on the metering tank, it must be operated by a magnet. I have checked the connections but will do so again and take a a flow meter with me (30 mile round trip)
Who dented your porsche then 😆

Hi Mal
Just to add, the flowmeter unfortunately isn’t a spare 👿 You will have to purchase the whole water matrix :rolls: p/no 481241868147.Greg

Last one I had with this error code turned out to be a kinked fill hose!
If the water pressure is too low it fools the flow meter.

If there’s not enough flow of water it doesn’t get enough pulses so it aborts.
I dented the Porsche 😆 reversed into a very large concrete planter (2 foot high and about 6 foot diameter). 😳

Does this machine have a test sequence? If so what is it and how is it accessed?

Thanks Greg…one little nugget in there, the test program won’t even start if there’s an F1 or F9 failure. F1 is the NTC which i measured at 60k at the board end which correlates nicely with the specs for it, and F9 is continuous fill which even i might have noticed (wet feet!)
So….it looks like the new board i have already fitted must be duff 😡April 26, 2007 at 11:40 pm #206773Penguin45
ParticipantRe: Whirlpool ADP 4404/5
Not neccessarily – you can meter the NTC and get perfectly acceptable readings and still the bloody thing won’t work…….. Cheaper than the board, sub one in and see what happens.
Chris.
