I cleaned out the fluff-filled fan/heater unit on top of the drum, but accidentally trapped a black wire from the right-hand-side set of wires in the unit when reassembling, which caused the property’s RCD to trigger when connected to the mains. After rescuing the wire and using insulation tape on it, the machine now does not operate: pressing the front power switch results in a flashing power light and no programme can be started. Also, when the power light was off, the water started flowing into the soap unit for a long time then eventually stopped.

My guess would be control unit: any ideas?

:S you’ve just opened a right can of worms there

betya life its blown the board

and thats where the problem starts

    theres different boards.. you’ll need

    1 > the serial number
2 > the software variation (a sticker on the cover, number starts 271… or summink)
3 > is it cold or hot+cold fill
4 > on certain models, the heater box was changed, but it might not be that new, so that needs to be checked

then , with all this info, u can look on partfinder for the right board/eprom

i love merloni !!! whatever happened to timers and speed control modules? they were much less bother and lasted longer
