    Hi,

I am looking to stack a Bosch Maxx WLF 2450 washing machine and a Bosch Classixx WTA3003/GB dryer.

I read this thread that suggested a WTZ 1160 stacking kit:

    viewtopic.php?f=33&t=3159

Bosch spares said they were no longer available, so I sourced one from eBay. On fitting it I discovered that it is not suitable as the stacking kit frame requires 30mm clearance from the top of the washing machine and the WLF 2450 does not have this as the drawer comes up to within 15mm of the top.

Rather than take a hacksaw to the kit can anyone tell me if there is a stacking kit that will kit, either a Bosch original or perhaps a generic kit of the type offered by eSpares (Part No: MHL031)? I would then simply resell the WTZ 1160 kit on eBay.

    thanks

All the stacking kit does is to lock the 2 appliances together. Where are the appliances going to be placed?
If it’s in a cupboard out of the way and visually means nothing, then why not use duck tape? 3 nice strips each side going from w/m to t/d will hold them together more than well enough.
It may not be pretty, but it certainly works when no stacking kit is availbale or an option.

    did i read that?
why not use selotape, or blue tac? ,maybe a bit of no nails between them both?

honestly, if the washer is gonna spin at 12-1400 rpm with a 6kg load, duct tape isnt gonna be enuf to stop that dryer being thrown off the top now is there?

if duct tape was enuf, rhen no1 would sell stacking kits would they?

at very least, id make a metal bracket, and screw the machines together, and thats the safety aspect of it, which, as we say in here all the time is most important?

They are not in a cupboard so it needs to look reasonable. Even if it was I would not trust duct tape to survive prolonged vibration!

Have it your way. but I have seen duck taped stacked machines and they are stable and secure.
Perhaps you should try it for yourself just to see how secure they might be.

If the machines had been in a cupboard, and with no genuine stacking kit available it would have been a cheap and easy get-out.
    But anyway…

That is not a suitable means of stacking.
Duct tape has its uses but that is not one of them, seriously guys.
Do it correctly it is better in the long run.

I did not say it was ideal, however when there is no genuine stacking kit what easy option is there, considering anything into the w/m worktop could compromise the solidity of the top as well as moisture ingress. Any drilling of either cabinet could result in snagging of wires or damage to components, and add to that the possible implications on the warranty through anything of this nature and the choices are few.
I don’t particularly like machines taped together however I have seen genuine Bosch stacking kits that after 2 years the front bracket mounts have had so much moisture ingress the chipboard top has given on the w/m.

    Vals spare knickers 😆 ❓
The WTA3003 isnt a condenser dryer, so no leakage anyway.
Personally I would never stack a condenser dryer for that reason.

Re: Stacking a Bosch Maxx WLF2450 and a Classixx WTA3003

I know the dryer in question isn’t a condenser dryer. As for not stacking a c/d for the reason of moisture, why do/did Bosch do a stacking kit for the WTL style of c/d that has 2 fittings to screw the c/d to behind the lower panel, that has to have the brackets screwed into the w/m worktop?.
If you have someone who doesn’t check the condenser or breaks the lower panel clips you will have a leaking c/d.

Anyway, I have seen it done and have had to deal with machines stacked that way and all I will say further is that the appliances were rock solid together, and way more solid than some “official” stacking kits.

Do I take it that no official kit is available for this combination?

    cheers
