    We’re currently looking at setting up a decent website and wondered if anyone can recommend a free host for it….or if not free then what are the advantages of paying for a host?

    decent bandwidth, dns hosting, decent uptime and no advertising to subsidise your free account!

    Don’t be tempted to pay shedloads of dosh to some slick company to set up and host your own website. First ask yourself exactly what you are trying to achieve by having one in the first place? Is it to attract more custom, an extension tool to more Internet sales or merely to inform those who already know of your existence anyway?

    Take a look at some of your competitors websites to see what rubbish they spout and how badly they are laid out? Many pay thousands for these sites but are lucky to break even if ever? Try searching on Google to find some of the more elaborate sites and I guarantee they won’t show up because of the basic errors or lack of information they contain. 😯

    Also, you can compete with these guys even without having your own website by adding your company name to those ‘local’ hosting sites dotted all over the web. They list your name and number to anyone searching the Internet for someone in your line of work, and very often with these sites….it is FREE!!!!!!!!! 😀

    Its like all things there is good and bad and you can pay over the odds for something. Free imho is ok for a personal site no email etc but if you want some kind of realibility you have to pay, thats just my opinion.

    30day free trial i think it is. Create your site with it and upload it.


    On this subject of hosting, was there an intention for ukw to provide hosting on its server?
