ParticipantHi, having received our Ariston AWD12 Advantage washer dryer from storage after moving to OZ have had some issues.
a) initially dryer stayed on for all washes
b) now a couple of months later it empties after filling and turning a couple of times and gives 15 flashes and spins the dreaded knob incessantly.
Called in local Ariston service agent 😯 . Suggested new circuit board, eeprom and module but they can’t get them anyway as it is a UK machine.(They forgot to mention that when we told them about it’s history before coming out). Then found you guys. Having read as many of the posts as possible I have traced the dryer issue to a loose connection following a post I found yesterday here in the forum – thank you for that. Also recovered 7 coins – UK & OZ, 2 nails, pair of tweezers and a hairgrip from the filter – thanks also for that but it is still doing b) above.
Any thoughts- it has only had 8 months of use in it’s four years of life and a shame to bin (even if we should have paid more for quality !!)March 13, 2007 at 2:20 pm #207669Martin

Sounds like she’s right up the creek mate, 15 flashes is a dryer heater relay fault on the board apparently? (But that is never for certain). Worst case senario = new module board and eeprom. Best solution is don’t use the dryer? its hot in Oz you don’t need one anyway. 😉

Thanks Martin.
Is there a way to disconnect the dryer function which would allow the rest to perform because at the moment the fault prevents a wash cycle from getting past filling and a couple of turns of the drum before it empties and goes into it’s sulk?
If not I’ll check that hopefully we registered under the 5 year warranty for parts and see if I can pursuade someone to post them out.
Interesting point on brands and price- here Ariston as anything European is seen as premium and therefore expensive close to Miele and Bosch. Also just for the record this must be the most consumer focused and friendly internet resource on the planet so full marks to you guys as moderators. Cheers. -
