This machine is intermittently stopping anywhere mid-cycle with the door lock light staying on. If the customer turns the selector to ‘off’ , leaving it for a few seconds and then turning it back on again it carries on [from where it left off she tells me] and finishes the cycle.

I went out to it a few weeks ago when this started , checked the door lock , played with the connections on the main pcb at the bottom and it was ok for a while but has started playing up again. Is there anything this could be apart from faulty pcb, poor edge connections or door lock? Insulation resistance was ok last time I went. Are these machines susceptible to slightly reduced insulation resistance on the heater or motor? Machine is 4 yrs old.

    Hi Geoff
    Not a problematic machine TBH.
Ignoring what customer has told you 🙂 I would check that the rinse hold isnt activated, as on this machine the button doesn’t remain depressed when activated; also RH can be set on any wash cycle IIRC.
Check the supressor aswell (don’t ask me why) but can be at fault.

    Just to add….
If the machine has any power interruption during its cycle (customer switching it on and off), then the electronics restarts at the beginning of the stage during which it was interrupted.

I have had plenty of these type of washer dryers whereby they just go dead, usually once it’s at or around rinses. Normally I find it’s the pressure switch causing the issue.
