ParticipantHi, we’ve inherited one of the above and I thought the Grill had packed in but reading through the posts (excellent site btw) I wondered if it was something to do with the switch itself else so would appreciate confirmation from you guys.
Basically looking into the oven when the normal (not fan) oven setting is used, the outside of the top element still heats up but on any grill setting nothing happens so I was wondering if this did indeed mean it was a faulty switch or circuit or if what looks like a single element has 2 independent circuits (but has to be replaced as one.) Hope this all makes sense and I’ve given you enough to go on.
Also worked out from your posts that the fan element has gone as when I try that setting only get cut off around 150 degrees on the thermostat switch, so will be asking for a quote on that pending the outcome of any advice you can give, thanks.
And the final part is the traditional one, given there is a gas supply involved with this unit is it a complete no go for personal repairs (once plug removed !!) or am I okay to replace the relevant parts, or depending on the issue would the access needed for repairs perhaps mean gas would have be disconnected and therfore Corgi only ?
Apols for rabbiting & Thanks in advance,
DB (in BB7)

Where dual fuel appliances are concerned we tend to aire on the side of caution and recomend a corgi qualified guy especially if the hose has to be disconnected to gain access for repairs. HTH

Hi, appreciate the comments re caution & a corgi guy.
Greg – I assume you feel that whatever the problem I’ll have to remove a panel & therefore get it disconnected, I know one so that’s not going to be a problem, I would never have asked for advice if I knew that to be the case, just seeking clarifcation from anyone who had worked on one before. However, sorry if I’m missing the point, but the main question really lies in what has failed, the element or the switch, before I fire off an order for the correct part.

If the element heats on the oven setting, but will not work on any grill setting (the outer has a shared function), the selector switch is the most likely culprit.
P/no 811730118 – best part of £30 last time I ordered one. Email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for confirmed prices and ordering.
