The search facility is the best place to start, I entered ‘Hotpoint AND Dryer’ and found this. http://tinyurl.com/yrux2s for starters.

this ones total dead apart from empty water light , float swicth tests ok, this one has a pcb module inside cabnet, looks like its that, maybe not worth repair

Could possibly sort a wiring diagram for you but it does sound a bit costly, Power module( excluding eeprom) almost £70 + vat, facia PCB around £55 + vat. 😥

hi, you may well have sorted this one by now, but just one point, on some of these the module puts the light on whenever the door is open as a reminder to empty the tank, so if the door lock is duff it will keep the light on and also make the whole machine ‘dead’. cause if it was really thinking the bottle was full it would still start up & run, just with no heat

Thanks for that, a very useful reminder, thinking about it the empty water light is often ‘on’ on lots of machines before you switch on. Is this the same on the machines with the bog standard door lock or just the later ones with a door interlock?
