ParticipantHi
Had ‘Service Force’ in to repair a Zanussi ZSF6150 dishwasher last week. It wasn’t heating the water and the drying cycle wasn’t running. They checked the heater (fine) and said it must be the PCB. Ordered the part, came back two days later, fitted it and left.
It’s not fixed the problem.
Further, the second engineer said that the ‘chirping cricket’ noise during the drying cycle (we mentioned that this used to happen before the heating packed in) was the air circulation fan starting to die, which Service Force don’t fix because it costs too much!
So, £160 down. Dishwasher still broken, and the first engineer neglected to mention that the noise we told him about probably ment that the dishwasher wasn’t economical to repair in the first place! Grrr!!
Any ideas about what the problem may actually be? Can the dryer fan be replaced?

Service Force have now phoned us to book a visit for replacing a dryer fan. Presumably the fan that their engineer said that they don’t replace because it’s too big a job.
Very odd. Any opinions on whether a failing dryer fan could cause the water to not heat?

Service Force sent out another engineer free of charge. It turned out that the element had become disconnected while the engineer fitting the PCB had been working.
There was a little bit of a misunderstanding about the dryer fan – they weren’t implying that was causing the lack of heat, just saying that they could fit a replacement for the cost of the parts only while they were there to fix the heating problem.
All fixed now and I’m a happy bunny.
