ParticipantHi, I have a problem with my integrated washing machine any help would be very much appreciated. All the information from the panel is bellow,
White-Westinghouse integrated washing machine
BI 1000X H/C
02-200670
J80062G01809
78 07373 00 100999The problem is when you start a cycle it lets the water in as normal initially then the drum turns a few times. At this point it would normally let more water in but it only lets in a little spurt every now and again. You can hear the solenoid clicking to let the water in but it’s just continuously click click click………… after a why’ll it will just continue with the wash until the next time it tries to put water in and then its back to click click click………. Unless the water has just been pumped out then it will fill as normal the first time but the second time you guess it click click click……..
I removed the wires from the cold feed tap/solenoid (not sure of the correct name) and put them on the hot to eliminate the inlet tap/solenoid and it behaved just the same. This obviously leads me to believe the problem is before the inlet tap/solenoid.
Hopefully the above makes sense to you, many thanks in advance

This is a Siltal made machine, and like most modern washers has a very low wash water level. As a result, to initiate wash a “critical mass” of water must be introduced to the machine. As this is quite small, most of this water is absorbed into the laundry and the water level effectively drops, causing the water level switch to drop out, requiring more water to be added. This can be a repetative process, especially if you do large loads. Providing the machine actually completes the programme, I wouldn’t worry about it.
If you try running the machine empty, I’ll bet this doesn’t happen.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve had this machine around 2½ years and haven’t known it to do this.
But running the machine with the top cover of I can see the noise I believed to be the tap/solenoid letting the water in. Is actually what looks like a diverter gate at the rear of the soap tray moving slightly when the tap/solenoid lets water in?
Could it just be that the diverter gate has come loose so it’s making a noise now, whereas before it made no noise so I was unaware of it?
I’ll try running it empty
