ParticipantWell…tomorrow we receive our first ISE and when it comes off the delivery lorry it’s going straight into the van for delivery the same day. Our customer had a Bosch that had a motor let go, enquired about good quality machines for a replacement so i directed him to UKW and suggested he look at ISE.
Result?….he rang back within half an hour and ordered one!
So…congrats and a big thanks to all who toiled long and hard to give ISE the web presence it has, it certainly made for us one of the easiest sales we’ve had! 😀

That’s brilliant Clive and exactly why we do things the way we do. Lots of people think we’re a bit crazy, but we actually want to direct sales to you.
Funnily enough I had a call today from another ISE agent who had a customer on the phone wanting to replace a Bosch as well with ISE. Weird coincidence I guess and, this Bosch was written off by DAG who, natch, wanted the customer to shop at Comet. Obviously I advised accordingly as best I could.
I’d love to bask in the glory of the effort into ISE but there’s a few people that deserve the credit for their efforts, not least John and David as they work like dogs on ISE.

How did you get around D&G?

I don’t know if it worked or not Ian.
But what I advised was that the customer should go back to DAG and tell them that they didn’t want to have Comet supply another machine as they didn’t like them, or had had issues with Comet, or even both. If the machine wasn’t purchased from Comet in the first place then I can’t understand, if DAG write it off, why the customer should be forced to go back there with no choice.
The other option, the simple one, is simply to say that Comet do not supply the replacement machine that the customer wants to buy.
If DAG are going to write off the machine and refund a proportion of the new policy it really shouldn’t make any difference where the money is to. I have used this tactic effectively with other insurers in the past as they don’t really have the ability to dictate where or what you buy as a replacement unless it is written into the policy, which I don’t know for sure in this case. Normally however such a stipulation is rare as it would then place the insurer in a bind if they wanted to switch suppliers.
