    Can anyone help please.

    I have a Whirlpool ADP5966 dishwasher. Something tripped the circuit breaker on the electrical consumer unit when I was out of the room. On powering back up the dishwasher, the start light is constantly flashing. Wherever the programme selector dial is turned only the Normal programme lights up. If I press the start button the machine can be heard to drain then stops.

    Is there a pattern to the flashing – ie, 1-2-3-4-pause-repeat?

    🙁 Sorry to hijack this thread but I have exactley the same problem. My led flashes 2 times then pauses then twice again.
    Holding start button for 2 secs causes machine to run drain pump for approx 30 secs.
    If another programe is selected and start button held for 2 secs it will very briefly flash the led of the new programe but revert to the normal led!!
    Any ideas ? What do 2 flashes mean?

    Flood protection activated. Tray under the machine will be full of water, drain and find the leak.

    Power off, before removing any panel.

    😀 😀 😀 😀 many thanks, try was full of water caused by leaking out let pipe on pump. this is a molded tube on the pump requiring a new pump 😥
    cut off spilt tube and replaced with short length of rubber tube and 2 jubilee clips. dried motor with hair dryer.
    problem solved fingers crossed 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
