ParticipantAs the title says really.
I have the error AL01 but when I have looked at the bottom tray it is bone dry.
I have also tried the dishwasher with the micro-switch disconnected and still the same error.
Is there anything else that this could relate too….or is there a way of clearing this error.
TIA
Carl.

Hi Carl,
AL01 definitely relates to the anti-flood switch and I don’t have any more info to hand on it at home.
Running with the switch disconnected, not such a good plan. 😉
Does the machine have an Aquastop fill hose as that can cause these sorts of errors as well?
There’s not much more I can suggest right now unless any of the Indesit/Hotpoint lads can shed any light.

The parts list does show both an aquastop and a conventional hose, however there is no part number for the aquastop.
Not a fault I have ever come across. 😕

Thanks for the reply mate….but as the micro-switch is in the open position fitted to the machine and only goes into the closed position when water is present in the base I couldn’t see it doing any harm, I was just removing the switch from the equation in case it was faulty.
Could you please shed some light on what an Aquastop fill hose is?
If it is the one used for filling from the water supply then the answer is NO just a normal hose is fitted.
I have spoken to iadom…..who comes across as a really helpful person and is a credit to UK Whitegoods IMO (Sorry for phoning you BTW).
He has mentioned that it may be one of the boards…..but hopefully one of the Hotpoint/Indesit guys could possibly shed some more light on the matter, as I don’t really want to spend £85 for an engineer to come out just to find out it was nothing really or if it is a faulty board replace this at a lower cost.
Thanks.

Quick update….it doesn’t seem to be displaying the AL01 at the moment, but has still been trying to empty itself for the last 10 minutes.
Forget the above its back again!

There is a possibility that the wiring harness is shorting out or a component is down to earth, this can lead to spurious error messages.
A careful examination of the wiring and checking all base components particularly the heater for earth faults would be the thing to do before going for the module.
On balance using a local independent engineer may be worthwhile.
PS. Don’t worry about the phone call, the England football team performed poorly, thankfully I was watching the cricket, only flicking to the footie between overs.
