    Hi All,

    First post and I’m looking for help already.
    I have a Hotpoint DF61 which is about 6 years old.
    The problem is that the machine continues to fill with water when it is turned off.
    If switch it on and put it on a dry cycle it drains away.
    Where is the fault.

    If your water shut-off is one of those chrome gate valves, often the little blue lever turns but the gate does’nt and water continues to flow. A replacement gate valve (stop-cock) may be required?

    However, it may also mean that the inlet solenoid valve inside your dishwasher is faulty and may need replacing? Firstly check and clean the valve’s fine mesh filter, sort that stop-cock problem out, then try the dishwasher again. If you still find it fills when not in use, then a new solenoid valve will be required! 😉

    Cheers Martin.

    I’ve disconnected the inlet hose and found the solenoid.
    Is there anyway to test this?
    I’m pretty sure that this is the problem as water continues to enter when the machine is turned off.
    Can you point me in the right direction to order the solenoid.
