ParticipantHi
I’ve an Ariston AFA350 and it’s currently a little poorly. It starts OK then seems to accelerate through the first cycle (pre wash) too quickly and then stops on the wash. The second light from the left is on and flashing.
Reading around http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ht=afa+350 indicates that its quite likely that the heater is the culprit. I’ve whipped off the botttom and put a multimeter across what looks like the heater – its got a black and purple wires to one side and a blue one to the other. Multimeter say infinite resistance. Have I made the correct assumption?
Cheers

You are correct. You need p/no C00057684 – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering.

Hi
Finally had time to fit new heater – still same problem! 😡 Old one defintely broken – doesn’t need a reset or anything else?
Or is there something else wrong – in which case any ideas?????

Hi
A quick reply with some more information. I’ve removed the new heater and reinstalled to make sure that I have got everything correct. I expected some water to be in this when I removed it – it was dry as bone. Is this to be expected? Doesn’t sound normal to me and could point at a stuck valve instead?
Getting someone in is looking at 100 quid + and with a six year old washer I’m more inclinded to purchase a new one – Miele seem to be the best – anyone pass an opinion on this?
Cheers

Right……. If the old heater ran without water in it, it would fail in very short order. However, to do this, the water level control system must think that the machine is full. Check pressure switch, air chambers and hoses for function.

Hi
Will check that when I get home tomorrow night. If this is the case then I suspect it’s quite likely the new heater has blown then as well ….. DOh! Why did I not twig that when I fitted the new one!
Cheers
