ParticipantHi!
I’m new here – an excellent site!My question today is that my Zanussi FJS 1391W’s door catch flange was broken and consequently, the interlock, which the flange was supporting, fell off inside the cabinet.
I found the flange at the on line shop, cost only £4.30, but asking an engineer would be £70 or more.
I’d like to ask your advice if this is something I can fix by myself, or better asking the professional’s help? I even don’t know how to open the cabinet! Thanks for your time.

Power off, slip band from door seal, ease seal off lip of casing and you will be able to reach the lock for repositioning easily.

I managed to follow your instruction, but couldn’t find the lock!
It must be at the bottom of cabinet – what shall I do? Or should I give up and call to an engineer? Thanks for your time.

It can’t fall any where due to the wires on the top and the hose underneath. It will have moved back an inch and a half at most. Look more closely……..

Very thoughtful of you to reply – yes, I found it!
Please imagine my feeling when my hand touches an object in the dark space!
I’ll reposition it as soon as the flange is delivered. Thanks again,

Thanks very much penguin45!
I managed to reposition the lock, following your instruction.
My machine is working well now, tackling a week amount of dirty clothes! This is the first time I mended an electrical appliance by myself.
I’m really grateful for your kindness and very glad to have found this forum.THANKS,
