    Hi,

I have a Bosch MAXX WFL2260 washing machine which is about 7 years old and it shakes violently during the spin cycle. It hasn’t been moved recently and it used to be very quiet and smooth. It has been doing this for a while now so I don’t think it is just an unbalanced load. For the present I have turned the spin speed right down to make it useable.

I have looked inside the machine and looks OK. The weights are firmly attached and there does not seem to be any noticable play in the drum bearing. There is only one thing I not sure about: the two plastic things at the bottom (shock absorbers?) have small amounts of oily residues on them.

Can anyone lend any advice or tell me where to find a service manual? If possible I would like to fix this myself. I would imagine it would be uneconomic to repair if I called in an engineer.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mark

I’d start by checking that the filter is clear, and any sink coupling…….

The drain pump is clear and the outlet is not blocked. I don’t quite understand why these could affect the spin though.

    Hi
It may attempt a spin, even if all the water hasn’t been removed due to a slight blockage is what P45 meant. 😀 , making it quite violent in its attempt.

What I would suspect is either worn motor brushes or worn suspension legs. Both are changeable but the suspension legs can be quite tricky.

Start with motor brushes first, they should be approx 1.5 inches in length when inspected off the motor.
Un plug appliance if you are to attempt any of the above :plug:

Thanks for the reply. I will check out brushes.

If they are OK then is there an easy way to test the suspension legs? They are rather expensive to speculatively replace.

BTW: I ran the machine empty and there was no problem with the spin. Maybe SWMBO has been overloading it? 😉

    Cheers,

Possibly, but the machine does have OB control to combat that.
