    Hi,

I have a Hotpoint FFM90 Fridge/Freezer, the other day what I believe to be a fan started to make a really awful and loud noise, I tapped the venting at the very top of the fridge compartment and the noise stopped, but I have also noticed that the Fridge is not cooling now, something is getting in there as its not warm as such, but its also not cold enough for milk etc, I take it the fan is held in the vent at the top and this has decided to die?

    If so…

    1) Is it user replaceable? And if so how do I remove and replace it?

    2) If engineer required does anyone know an independant in Gosport/Fareham/Portsmouth area, who they can recommened?

    Cheers

    Hi,

It’s possible that the fan has chucked it but I don’t know how hard it is to change in that machine but I’d suspect no too hard. Getting into them is usually the problem.

If you need an engineer try the repairs@ link.

    Hi,

Fixed it, basically got a hairdryer, pointed it into the vent in the fridge compartment, turned it on full heat and blast, left it there for ten mins, then fridge started to cool again.

Probably overfreezing in the air duct then and jamming the duct or the fan, no doubt the problem will return if that’s the case.
