ParticipantThis is the current SMEG-built integrated washer dryer. The door inner panel has cracked; replacement is door assembly 4812 451 68063, showing at £102!
Anyone know the SMEG equivalent? It isn’t 695260047 – that’s 2″ undersize…….

tricky one, so many differrent doors. AFAIK the latest 1600 rpm ones use 695260053 (listed as 300mm, but measured where I have no idea)while the 1200 use 695260059 what the difference is I do not know. These are listed at 68.29 retail.
Dont know of any sure fire way to convert part numbers.
Hope that helps.April 3, 2007 at 11:02 pm #209691Penguin45

OK, just to round this off and by way of a cautionary tale, I finally got the go ahead for this job and ordered 4812 451 68063. I got a phone call from my wholesaler of choice to say that the door is £102.21. I replied that I was aware that the SSP on SIOS was indeed £102.21……..
It turned up yesterday, with a bill for £102.21 plus VAT = £120.10, so not terribly happy about that. Anyway, went and fitted it this morning – opened the box – and behold, Whirlpool part number label stuck neatly next to the SMEG part number label. It says 695260059 and is available to order from the same wholesaler for £48.20………
So for future reference, they might like to link these parts together on the database. I’d also appreciate some clarification as to their Whirlpool pricing structure.
It could have been worse I suppose, I could have ordered it from Connect.
If you need this in future, BTW, this door fits models AWF592 and G2PWD3/WH.

SRP: £139.47
Guess where that came from? 😉
I have spoken to a couple of spares distributors about a database to combat this, so far, no takers on developing it. It’s not hard to do really, just costly and/or time consuming.
It’s either that or a bunch of us club together, stick some money in and develop it ourselves to beat this sort of practice.
But I will say that this has been done before and that was before the days when the internet was nowhere near as developed as it is now, I was on a 33K connection running pricing updates for this sort of stuff. These days you could virtually do it in real time.
I can also tell you that, doing spares distribution at the time, such a system saved us countless thousands a year and saved so many doubled up lines on the shelf gathering dust it was unbelievable.
Sean’s been on at me to do something with the idea as well but there’s two problems, the usual ones, lack of time and lack of money, the latter being the larger problem as you can solve the former one using the latter.

Obviously not from the current SIOS disc, perhaps our friends in Birmingham whom I don’t talk to anymore?
This cross-linking business can be done, but by God it’s time consuming. We have done it once with the Whirlpool dishwasher motor, that took the best part of a day and is already out of date because we hadn’t realised that Whirlpool had started sticking the bloody Askoll pump into their own production machines. And they changed the part number for the replacement kit as well. Convince me that this not orchestrated and co-ordinated?
The Indesit Company are selling this machine as well – wonder what the price for their door is?

Cross-linking can be done fairly easily. All it takes is a centralised server and some dedication.
Part number changes, cross references and differing prices are easy to log.
