Zanussi Freezer fault

    hi folks,
    I have a standard under worktop freezer that is not working correctly

    Model… Zanussi ZV45R
    Type… B 227206 X
    Product number 922720754
    serial number 94000124
    Refrigerant R600a

    If I put the freezer on ‘FastFreeze‘ then the lights come on and the freezer appears to cool OK
    If I just put the freezer on without fast freeze then nothing – no cooling whatsoever.

    My questions – does this mean that the freezer uses two thermostats and one has broken or is there another likely cause?

    If so where and how much would new parts be?
    Would this likely be a DIY job?

    Any advice welcome as I’m trying to decide if its worth justifying in time and cost terms to repair the freezer. 🙂

    By selecting the fast freeze option you are infact bypassing the thermostat and connecting the electric directly to the motor (compressor). Do not leave the fast freeze on too long or you will burn out the compressor. The part you require is the thermostat available from shop@ part number Zanussi 2262170034
